Three more children reported missing from Imphal
Imphal, Jul 28: Three more children from Nungoi and Challou of Imphal East district have been reported missing, raising the number of missing children to 30. The PRO of Assam Rifles Col Pant here on Monday, July 28, informed that seven people allegedly involved in kidnapping of children were nabbed in separate incidents.
''The nabbed cadres belonging to different outfits were involved in the abduction for recruitment in militant outfits,'' he said, adding that the identities and details of the nabbed militants were not revealed. Security Forces will continue relentless operations against such activities, the PRO said. Meanwhile, the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) a militant outfit has condemned the kidnapping of children. ''The abduction trend indicates that the abductors are trying to kidnap children for the sake of money as this kind of recruitment is not revolutionary and it is a wrong step,'' the RPF said.
