Swaminathan forced to drop agitation on power cut
Puducherry, Jul 28: Bharathiya Janata Party(BJP) National Council member Swaminathan was on Monday, July 28, forced to drop his agitation to protest against unscheduled power cuts in Puducherry, as the police withdrew permission granted to him earlier, in the last minute.
Mr Swaminathan had applied for police permission for the agitation and the police granted it. However, in the meantime, BJP state President M Visweswaran called on senior police officials and urged them not to grant permission to Mr Swaminathan under the BJP banner since, he was already expelled from the party . Following this police withdrew the permission and asked Swaminathan not to give up the agitation.
