Solar eclipse on Aug 1, to be partially visible in India

New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) A total eclipse of the Sun will occur on August 1, and will be partially visible across India from 1549 hrs to 1807 hrs, the Met office announced today.

The partial phase of the eclipse will be visible in Delhi from 1603 hrs to 1756 hrs, Chandigarh from 1558 hrs to 1754 hrs, Jalandhar from 1556 hrs to 1753 hrs, Shimla from 1557 hrs to 1753 hrs, Dehra Dun from 1559 hrs to 1754 hrs, Nagpur from 1621 hrs and 1804 hrs, Panaji from 1636 hrs to 1805 hrs, Pune from 1628 hrs to 1804 hrs, Jammu from 1553 hrs to 1751 hrs, and Srinagar from 1549 hrs to 1749 hrs.

It will also be seen over religious places of Allahabad (1611 hrs to 1800 hrs), Amritsar (1555 hrs to 1752 hrs), Gaya (1613 hrs to 1801 hrs), Nashik (1624 hrs to 1803 hrs), Varanasi (1611 hrs to 1800 hrs) and Ujjain (1616 hrs to1801 hrs).

In Mumbai, it will be visible from 1627 hrs to 1803 hrs, in Chennai from 1640 hrs to 1807 hrs, Hyderabad from 1630 hrs to 1806 hrs, Kolkata from 1618 hrs to 1802 hrs, Agartala from 1615 hrs to 1800 hrs, Ahmedabad from 1616 hrs to 1800 hrs, Jaipur from 1607 hrs to 1758 hrs, Karavatti from 1653 hrs 1803 hrs, and Kanyakumari from 1657 hrs to 1805 hrs, an Earth Science Ministry release said.
