Sambalpur, Jul 28 (UNI) The Koshal Kranti Dal(KKD), a regional party fighting for formation of a new state out of Orissa has urged president Pratibha Patil to reject JMM supremo Shibu Soren's proposal for inclusion of three Orissa districts in Jharkhand.

In a memorandum to the President, KKD president Upendra Kumar Mohapatra said the people of this region popularly known as Koshalanchal under no circumstances, are prepared to part with the three districts proposed by Mr Soren.

He said the people of the region have no links with Jharkhand either socially or culturally, adding that such a proposal would have a disastrous consequence.

JMM Orissa unit president Sudam Marandi has clarified that his party was against any division of Orissa and described agitations launched by the ruling BJD-BJP against the JMM as a bigger conspiracy to defame the party before the public.

The state recently witnessed series of demonstrations at various places where the BJD and BJP activists observed bandh and burnt the effigy of JMM leader Shibu Soren opposing the so called merger of Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts to pave the path for formation of greater Jharkhand.
