Lucknow, Jul 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh former chief minister and congress senior leader Ram Naresh Yadav today charged the Mayawati-led state government with providing sub-standard arrangement in flood-affected districts.
Several districts of UP had been badly hit by the calamity, forcing the people to abandon their homes. Majority of this population were leading a life as destitudes, Mr Yadav said.
Flood water had entered in Maharajganj, Azamgarh, Mau, Basti, besides, several villages were marooned in Gorakhpur division due to swelling of Ghaghra, Saryu and Rapti rivers following incessant rainfall since the advent of Monsoon, Mr Yadav added.
However, rescue and relief work initiated by the government was improper and was lacking in every sphere, he said.
There were insufficient boats, flood-booth were unoperational.
there was scarcity of medicos in the region and adding more to the woes, the government had issued transfer orders for some doctors in Hajipur, he lamented.
Giving the detailed list of flaws in arrangements, Mr Yadav requested the state government to do the needful and help the flood victims in the best possible manner.
