By Staff

Los Angeles, Jul 27 (UNI) After crashing out of the singles, Sania Mirza faced disappointment in the doubles event as she and her partner Bethanie Mattek retired midway through their semifinal match at the USD 600,000 WTA East West Bank Classic tournament here.

The second seeded Indo-American pair pulled out of their match against the Czech pair of Eva Hrdinova and Vladimira Uhlirova after Mattek sustained an injury to her lower back.

They were trailing 2-6, 1-2 at the time.

Hrdinova and Uhlirova will take on top seeds Chan Yung-Jan and Chuang Chia-Jung in the final.
