National capital on high alert after serial blasts
{image-new delhi_27072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Jul 27: Following the terrorist blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad in the last two days, the Capital city of Delhi has been put on high alert with 30 additional companies being stationed across the city to maintain extra surveillance.
Further, the special branch of the Delhi Police as well as the traffic police have been asked to be extra vigilant and give their inputs on the areas requiring more security.''A state of high alert has been sounded with security measures heightened at sensitive locations such as market places, railway stations, Metro stations and the Inter state bus terminuses, ISBT ''Delhi police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.

Infact, earlier this morning the Commissioner was called for a meeting at the Home Minister's residence where the security situation in the city was reviewed in the wake of yesterday's serial blasts in Ahmedabad and need for additional security measures was emphasised..
Soon after, the Commissioner called a meeting of senior officials of the Delhi police where it was decided to set aside 30 companies from the reserve forces for surveillance duty.
''In addition, the Special Branch of the Delhi Police and Traffic Police have been asked to give their inputs on the need for additional security measures in the city.
The traffic police have been instructed that in addition to the traffic maintenance, they should also look at the security angle,''Mr Bhagat said.
Infact, in a meeting held by Commissioner with senior police officials last night, immediately after the serial blasts in Ahmedabad, need was emphasised for greater vigilance in the city.
Several serial blasts rocked the Ahmedabad city last night, leaving 37 dead and 132 injured.
