Change of guard in three Corps
Kohima, Jul 27 (UNI) Lt Gen R K Lumba will take over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of three Corps at Rangapahar near Dimapur from outgoing GOC Lt Gen M S Dadwal.
Defence sources said here today Gen Dadwal paid a day's farewell visit to Kohima yesterday. Maj Gen J P Nehra received him at the Assam Rifles helipad.
The outgoing GOC complimented the officers of the formation for their exceptional display of professionalism and dedication in discharging their duties.
The General also called on Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan and assured him that the security forces would continue to extend full cooperation to the civil administration, besides ensuring that peace prevails in the state.
Gen Dadwal has been transferred and appointed as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff in New Delhi, while newly appointed Gen Lumba would come from the Higher Command Wing of the Army War College at Mhow.
