Tourism Malaysia announces new tour package

Puducherry, Jul 26 (UNI) Positioning itself as the international holiday gateway of choice in the union territory of Puducherry, Tourism Malaysia, the nodal agency to promote Maalysia as a preferred destination, today announced the ''best of Malaysia mega sale travel package'' for the travellers of Puducherry.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Noor Arif Mohd Noor, Director Tourism Malaysia said, aimed at luring the leisure traffic, the package is attractively priced, offering an affordable holiday through 'short breaks'in Malaysaia.The package of 3 nights/4 days costs Rs 7,777 for an individual, while the 5 nights/6 days package was priced at Rs.12,999 exclusive of airfare.

Emphasizing on the package Mr Noor said focussing on the tertiary cities of south India,Tourism Malaysia is seeking to create more awareness about Malaysia as a holiday getway, with an objective to tap the growing leisure traffic from these potential source cities.

In this regard Tourism Malaysia is holding an interactive trade session with leaders of the local community that will focus on re-enfocring Malaysia's position as a year-round destination and highlight tourism Malasya's proactive marketing strategies for India, he said.

He also said Malaysia caters to the holiday need of Indian travellers by offering multi-faceted destination experience that is reflected in its rich culture and heritage ,exotic beaches and resorts, water and adventure sports, eco-tourism and wellness.It is also fast emerging as a prime wedding destination and offers lucrative opertunities to buy properties in Malaysia through its programme of ''Malaysia my second Home'' under the aegis of Toruism Ministry, he added.

India continue to remain an important tourism source market for destination Malaysia, he said adding that between January to June this year 2,92,850 Indian travellers visited Malaysia registering an increase of 26.6 percent as compared to the arrivals for the same period last year.Tourism Malaysia aims to target five lakhs arrivals from India for 2008, he said.
