Nagpur legislators urge for reallocation of unutilised funds
Mumbai, July 26 (UNI) A delegation of legislators from Nagpur Division have urged Governor S C Jamir to reallocate unutilised funds from irrigation projects in Amravati region to the ongoing irrigation projects in Nagpur region.
The 18-member delegation, led by Maharashtra Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Pramod Shende on Thursday, pointed out that the amount allotted to Amravati Region for clearing the backlog of irrigation was not fully utilized. While, the ongoing projects in Nagpur Division required more funds.
The legislators, representing various political parties requested Mr Jamir to reallot the funds without adversely affecting the projects in Amravati region.
Meanwhile, Mr Jamir said the issue was already referred to the chief minister's office and that appropriate action would be taken after ascertaining his views.
