Karkala, Agumbe recorded 12 cm rainfall

Bangalore, July 26 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Monsoon was active over South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Karkala, Agumbe 12 each; Mulki 9; Mudibidre, Panambur Bajpe, Gerusoppa, Sringeri, Jayapura 8 each; Bantwal, Belthangadi, Kundapur 7 each.

Other Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Mani, Puttur, Subramanya, Kadra, Bhagamandala, Linganamakki 6 each; Dharmasthala, Sulya, Kota, Siddapura (Udupi dt), Honavar, Karwar, Somwarpet, Talaguppa, Kottigehara, Balehonnur 5 each; Udupi, Kollur, Bhatkal, Shirali, Ankola, Bidar, Napoklu, Madapura, Kammardi, Koppa 4 each.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/ thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and over Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Very heavy to heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over the Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

FISHRIES WARNING : Strong onshore winds from westerly to northwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during the 24 hours.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. Few spells of light rain likely. Surface winds may be strong and gusty at times.
