Shimla, Jul 26 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government would organise a skill upgradation conference soon for vice chancellors and principals of degree colleges in the state.
In the one day-conference, to be organise in association with the Institute of Technology and Future Management Trends (ITFT), detailed discussions would be held by the experts about the job prospects in the private sector and apprehensions prevalent amongst the state's youth about opting for private sector jobs.
Stating this here today, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that "there is a need to upgrade skills of the state's youth and provide them maximum exposure of the outside world to enable them to get employement in private sector." He said that the state government had been in touch with various organisations dedicated towards skill upgradation of the youth to match the emerging trends in different employable industries.
He said that the state government would be exploring the possibilities of finding more job opportunities in hydel and industrial sectors besides providing opportunity to upgrade skills under special training programmes.
Education Minister ID Dhiman said that with the skill upgradation conferences, the state youth would be equipped with skills, which could find them more employment avenues in the private sector.
