Faridabad, July 26 (UNI) Haryana Tourism Development Corporation has achieved a record turnover of Rs 188.02 crore in the year 2007-08 as against the turnover of Rs 171.69 crore in the year 2006-07.
Similarly, the record net profit for the year ended March 31, 2008 was Rs 5 crore as against the net profit of Rs 3.22 crore in the year ended March 31, 2007 thus showing an increase of Rs 1.78 crore.
This was stated by Haryana Minister of State for Tourism Kiran Choudhry after inaugurating Rs 511.84 lakh Rajhans Convention Centre at Surajkund.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Choudhry said the Haryana Government was developing Pinjore and Bhima Devi as integrated tourist spot as with the World Heritage Site tag for the Kalka-Shimla railway track, these spots, located near Kalka, would attract tourists from all over India and abroad.
She also said that Haryana Tourism was striving to be a destination for adventure campers and adventure camping sites are being developed at Surajkund, Dharuhera, Hodal, Damdama and Morni especially in view of the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
