Siliguri, Jul 26 (UNI) GNLF supremo Subash Ghisingh today said he would adopt a '' wait and watch policy'' on a few party members' disposition towards joining the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha.
Addressing the media here, Mr Ghisingh said the party members' decision was propelled by circumstances, adding that it would not pose any problem to the GNLF.
Terming it as ''politics'', Mr Ghisingh felt that the situation in Darjeeling was worsening. In this regard, he attributed the cause to the delay in putting the hills under the Six Schedule.
Ruling out any chances of taking refuge from politics, the GNLF supremo said he would stay at Siliguri for a week and chalk out his plans further.
The GNLF supremo was earlier taken to Jolaphar Army Cantonment from his home and after maintaining utmost secrecy, he arrived at Siliguri at 1615 hours. He boarded at Sinclairs Hotel at Darjeeling More here. According to sources, he would stay there for tonight.
IG (North Bengal) K L Tamta said they had responded to Mr Ghisingh's wish to assist the latter in reaching Siliguri.
SP (Darjeeling) Rahul Srivastava said discussions were taking place regarding the GNLF supremo's safe housing.
Mr Srivastava added that additional force had been posted and a special team formed to take control of the situation.
