Court records witnesses statement in 2005 Delhi serial blasts case

New Delhi, Jul 19 (UNI) A city court today recorded the statement of three witnesses in connection with the serial blasts that rocked the Capital on October 29,2005.

Two Delhi officials and the receptionist of a hotel deposed before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Babu Lal in connection with the serial blast that rocked Delhi on the eve of Diwali three years ago.

One of the three powerful serial explosions took place in a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus in Govindpuri.

Budh Prakash, the conductor of the DTC bus, Kuldeep Singh, the driver, S K Chillara, the depot manager and Balbir Singh, the engineer of the DTC deposed before the court and narrated the incidents that happened in the DTC bus before the bomb blast.

The conductor of the DTC bus deposed before the court that one passenger had raised an alarm about an unclaimed bag lying in the bus on which the driver parked the bus on the roadside and asked the passengers to get down. When he opened the bag, he found some white object in it and tried to throw the bag outside. In the process, the bomb exploded and the driver was injured.

The statements of all four have been recorded.

The blast, that took place inside the DTC bus at Govindpuri in South Delhi, was one of the three blasts in which at least 63 people were killed and several injured. The other two bombs exploded at busy marketplaces in Paharganj, Central Delhi, and Sarojini Nagar market in South-West Delhi.
