Ambala, Jul 26 (UNI) The CBI today filed a case against two Haryana policeman in Sarita rape case which was handed over to it following the sensational suicide by the victim in front of the police headquarters in Panchkula.
The case had hit headlines when the victim ended her life in front of the office of the Haryana DGP at Panchkula accusing the police in Rohtak of wrongfully detaining her husband and not heeding to her complaint of rape by the two policemen.
The two accused policemen Balram and Silkraj were present when the CBI submitted the case to the court.
CBI magistrate Abdul Majid fixed August 9 for hearing of the case and remanded the accused into judicial custody till the date of hearing.
She had stated in her suicide note that she was compelled to take the extreme step due to callous behaviour of the Police officials at all levels.
Later, the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda ordered to hand over the case to the CBI.
