Bomb defused in mall, K'taka govt announces Rs 1 lakh reward
Bangalore, Jul 26 (UNI) The Karnataka government today announced a reward of Rs one lakh for providing clues about yesterday's serial bomb blasts even as a live bomb was defused in Forum Mall in Koramangala area in the city.
City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told newspersons that the government had announced Rs one lakh reward for providing any vital information regading the blasts.
Mr Bidri said ''According to initial reports, a man wearing a striped T-shirt was seen placing the bomb. Steps are being taken to nab the culprit and his sketch will be released shortly.'' There was no need to panic since steps had been taken to ensure public safety, he added.
A special team, headed by Mr Bidari, was formed to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, a five-member team of the National Bomb Detection Squad arrived from New Delhi and was inspecting the blast sites.
