Air pollution in Ahmedabad decreased considerably: Bhure Lal
Ahmedabad, Jul 26 (UNI) A significant drop has been registered in air pollution in the city, Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority Chairman Dr Bhure Lal said here today.
While reviewing Ahmedabad Air Pollution Control Action Plan in a meeting, Dr Lal said Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) was an effective way to ease the traffic problem and people would be able to appreciate its significance when it would be fully commissioned in the city.
Underlining the importance of CNG run vehicles in controlling the air pollution, he said CNG buses were a good solution to this problem. Since these buses were costly, manufacturers of such buses would be persuaded not to take advantage of their rising demand, Dr Lal said.
