Trust vote reflects next LS polls: Cong
Aizawl, Jul 25(UNI) While acclaiming the Congress-led UPA's victory in the trust vote, the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee today said the victory reflects the results of the next Lok Sabha polls.
'' It is a big relief that the UPA government will continue without the communist party. The victory also reflects the next general elections,'' Congress spokesperson Lalsawta told newspersons here today.
He said the communist party had created several hindrances to the UPA's development programmes. The Left parties opposed the Nuke deal because of their anti-American stance, he alleged.
The Congress severely criticised MNF's MP Vanlalzawma for remaining neutral in such a time of political crisis.
Announcing the Congress' policy, Lalsawta said if the Congress comes to power in the coming polls, it would not only 'call in' the CBI, but would also establish Mizoram Bureau of Investigation.
Rubbishing Chief Minister Zoramthanga's claims that 'no chief minister (of Mizoram) has ever called in the CBI into Mizoram,' the Congress spokesman stated that the Congress president had given a general consent to the CBI when he was the chief minister in 1990.
He produced documentary evidences to this claim.
He accused Zoramthanga of being afraid of the CBI for his and his party's corrupt practices.
