Puri, Jul 25 (UNI) In view of rising incidents of alleged misbehaviour to passengers, all the front line staff in the Railways would be imparted training, Railway Board Chairman Kalyan Kumar Jena said.
Talking to newsmen here, Mr Jena said the TTC, TTE, Station Masters and the guards besides all other persons connected with passenger affairs would be trained to deal with them with a human touch.
He said the Railways have undertaken several other measures to provide better services to the passengers. The Railway Board Chairman inspected the Purusottam Express in which facilities for the commuters have been improved using indigenously developed equipment and furniture giving an environment friendly and aesthetic look.
On the proposed Rs 99 crore Puri Konark rail project, Mr Jena said the survey work has been completed but the constriction work could not be initiated as the state government was yet to provide the required land for the project.
He said nearly Rs 6 crore would be spent over reconstruction of the Puri rail station and steps would be taken to free the railway land from encroachments.
