Chandigarh, Jul 25 (UNI) With a view to facilitating people to get the errors in voter cards corrected and get themselves registered as new voters, a special two-day campaign will be launched in Gurgaon district of Haryana tomorrow.
Designated officers will remain present from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs at their specified polling stations already set up, an official spokesman said today.
The Gurgaon administration said that Photo electoral rolls of all assembly constituencies in the district were being revised, on the directions of Election Commission of India, in view of newly delimited constituencies in the state with January 1, 2008 as the qualifying date.
Therefore, the draft photo electoral rolls had been published on july 18, 2008 and displayed on notice boards in the offices of the all concerned for inspection by public, he added.
The revision of photo electoral rolls aimed at preparing their complete final lists and without any error with the help of voters and political parties.
''Those who have died and who have changed their addresses, their names would be deleted from the list and those who are eligible to get their name registered in the voter lists for the first time being eligible on January 1, 2008 or earlier, but could not get their names registered, their name would also be included,'' he added.
