Punjab to provide paddy plantation machines to farmers
Chandigarh, Jul 25 (UNI) To provide paddy plantation machines to farmers to avoid labour problems being faced by them, the Punjab Government is negotiating with a Japan based agricultural impliments company to provide paddy plantation machines to farmers.
Punjab Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah today met a four member delegation from Japan headed by Mr Satoshi Nishioka, Senior Manager Yanmar Agricultural Equipment Company Japan, who gave a presentation of a eight row paddy plantation machine that would sow paddy nurseries as well as transplant paddy.
Mr Langah said that a high level team in which tractor manufactures would also be included would visit Japan for this purpose.
The Minister was hopeful that before the commencement of the paddy sowing season next year these machines would be assembled in Punjab.
