Passenger Reservation System inaugurated at KIIT
Bhubaneswar,Jul 25(UNI) Kalinga Institute of Industrial and Technology(KIIT) has become the first educational institution in Orissa and the second one, after IIT Kharagpur, in Eastern India to have Computerized Railway Passenger Reservation System facility.
A new Computerized Railway Passenger Reservation System inside the KIIT campus was dedicated to the public by Railway Board Chairman Kalyan Chandra Jena in presence of Founder, KIIT Group of Institutions Dr A Samanta and East Coast Railways(ECoR) General manager A K Goyal.
Inaugurating the system, Mr Jena said it would be a humble attempt by ECoR to serve the residents of Orissa and thanked KIIT University for providing logistical support.
KIIT founder Dr A Samanta expressed his gratitude to the Railway Board Chairman and the officials of ECoR for setting up of the reservation facility at KIIT.
The new Passenger Reservation System at KIIT will benefit 12000 students and 5000 staff, besides general public living in Chandrashekharpur area of Bhubaneswar.
The residents of Bhubaneswar could avail the facilities of the PRS which would be open from 0800 hrs to 1400 hrs on all weekdays except Sunday.
