MPs waved wads of notes due to slow legal procedure: Venkaiah
Raipur, July 25 (UNI) Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today described waving of wads of notes in Parliament by some party MPs stating that police were not informed as legal procedures are slow and procedures in Parliament are likely to progress at fast pace.
''No mistake was made by party MPs by waving wads of notes, as they were left with no other option,'' Mr Naidu told a press conference here.
Referring to alleged MLA bribery scandal of Chhattisgarh about five years back to support his point, he said the CBI was investigating the case but still chargesheet has not been filed.
Pointing out that the UPA Government was not able to function with the help of 333 MPs, he said it would not be able to continue with 275 MPs now. The manner in which the government had obtained majority was not hidden.
Mr Naidu, who was here to take part in the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national executive meeting, denied that there was more dissatisfaction within the BJP than the other parties. It appeared so as the number of BJP MPs is more but its percentage was quite less as compared to other parties.
On attacks on houses of rebel MPs and allegations levelled by expelled MP Chandrabhan Singh regarding attempts to kill him, he said the BJP did not believe in taking life.
