CID conducts combing operation at Asaram Bapu's ashram
Ahmedabad, Jul 25 (UNI) The city crime branch sleuths today conducted a combing operation at spiritual guru Asaram Bapu's ashram, located on the bank of Sabarmati river, to investigate into mysterious deaths of two children.
Nearly 500 officials of CID crime, along with a large force of SRP jawans, today raided the ashram to find out vital clues and evidences that could lead to mysterious deaths of Deepesh Vaghela (10) and Abhishek Vaghela (10), the cousins who were studying in ashram shala. They went missing from hostel of ashram shala on the night of July 3 and their bodies were recovered from Sabarmati river bed on July 5.
CID officials, assisted by the FSL experts and a squad of sniffer-dogs, made a detailed examination of the river-bed and ashram shala to find out any evidences and clues.
According to preliminary reports, CID officials have detained nearly 10 disciples of Bapu.
Meanwhile, the officials of Food and Drugs Department of Gujarat government also raided Bapu's ashram in Godhra town to check quality of ayurvedic medicines being sold from there.
