BJP MPs file complaint in cash-for-vote scandal
New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) A complaint seeking action against those attempting to bribe the three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs to buy their loyality was filed with the Lok Sabha Secretariat today.
The complaint was made by the three lawmakers comprising Ashok Argal, Fagan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Bhagora narrating the events how attempts were made to buy their loyalty offering them an advance of Rs one crore each on July 22 morning for defying the party whip, party sources said.
The MPs had produced wads of cash in the House as evidence of the UPA indulging in corrupt practices in the House on the very day.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat has asked the MPs to make a formal complaint giving their version of event.
BJP Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who led the party team, said the MPs had submitted their complaint to the Lok Sabha Secretary General after talking to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
Party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad and advocate Pinki Anand, too, were with the MPs when they submitted their complaint, BJP Parliamentary Party sources said.
