Mumbai, Jul 25 (UNI) Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar today adjourned the Legislative Assembly for 15 minutes after persistently being disturbed by the members, who were raising issues not pertaining to the ongoing issue.
The speaker warned Raju Timande (NCP), who tried to raise a issue from his constituency, while the calling attention notices were called to order.
Later, it was the turn of Opposition benches, as Sardar Tara Singh raised some issue in a high pitched voice, which irked the Speaker.
''This is not the way a House can be run and this is intolerable,'' he said waking out and adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
When the House resumed, Mr Kupekar was not in the chair and his place was occupied by Girish Bapat (BJP), member of speakers panel.
NCP MLA Sachin Ahir informed the House that the Speaker was so disturbed with today's developments that he would attend the House only for the last day tomorrow at the end for national anthem.
However, Mr Bapat said he had discussed the issue with Mr Kupekar and he would attend the house soon.
Earlier, when the question hour started, the House had to be adjourned for 10 minutes, as there was no Cabinet minister and quorum. This also disturbed the Speaker, who reminded the statement of deputy Chief Minister that the House should run only when one minister and 29 members are present.
''Count heads. They are less than a quorum and sans minister,'' the Speaker, who himself was a minister in the last tenure, said.
