Sultry weather continues in Delhi, mercury rises to 37 Deg C
New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) The sultry weather conditions prevailing in Delhi since the last couple of days persisted today with the mercury rising to 37 degrees Celsius.
Though a cool breeze in the morning maintained a cool air in the city, leading to a slight drop in minimum temperature to 27.3 degrees Celsius, appearance of sun in the sky and a sharp rise in humidity to 92 per cent resulted in the maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
Meanwhile, barring a short spell of light rain late last night, Delhi continued to experience a lull in rainfall activity today.
The lull is expected to persist with weathermen forecasting a decrease in rainfall in Northwest India from tomorrow.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of light rain or thundershowers in a few areas.
