Maharashtra: 10 bar girls, 2 others held
Mumbai, Jul 24: In a contineous drive to conduct raid on Bars and Restaurants to curb obscenity, the Social Service Branch (SSB) of city police conducted raid in a city bar and arrested 12 people for allegedly indulging in obscenity to lure customers.
The SSB personnel had received information that girls of 'Pingara' bar and restaurant at Byculla in southcentral Mumbai were allegedly indulged in obscenity to lure customers.
Last night at around 2300 hrs police raided the bar and arrested 10 bar girls, manager and cashier of the bar, police said.
The accused were booked under section 110, 33(w) of Mumbai police act and PITA (Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act). They will be produced before metropolitan magistrate here later in the day, the police added.
