Kerala Oppn stages walkout over League House attack
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 24 (UNI) The entire Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala today staged a walkout in the State Assembly in protest against the attack on the League House, the state committee office of the Indian Union Muslim League in Kozhikode.
They walked out of the House when Speaker K Radhakrishnan refused admissibility of an adjournment motion, sought to be moved by Mr Abdurahiman Randathani of the IUML.
Opposing the motion, Law Minister M Vijayakumar said all parties should desist from attacking each other's party offices. Those who had pelted stones at the League House could not be identified yet. Police had been issued direction to take stringent action against those who had attacked the party office.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition G Karthikeyan alleged that it was the CPI(M) that resorted to politics of violence in the State. When they were in the Opposition, the CPI(M) activists used to attack buses and public property. As a ruling party too, they vent their ire on political opponents.
Mr Randathani said it was for the fourth time that the League House had been attacked. Besides, 17 offices of the IUML and the Congress were attacked by CPI(M) activists throughout the State, he alleged.
