Mumbai, Jul 24 (UNI) As part of its Youth-Connect-Programme (YCP), Indian Cricket League (ICL) today announced the launch of Youth Mobilization initiative, which aims to popularise the concept of league cricket among the youth of the country.
Kick-starting the initative, the league has associated with city-based Wilson College's inter-collegiate BMM festival, POLARIS'08 that is scheduled from July 25 to 27, a release here today said.
ICL's Senior Vice President (Marketing&Operations) Shariq Patel said ''We see the youth of the country as a catalyst to propel the concept of league cricket in India. The ICL stands with the foremost objective of promoting the sport and providing a vibrant, transparent platform for young domestic sportsmen of the country.'' ''This is a first step of Youth Mobilization initiative. Through this we would be supporting&encouraging various youth ventures like inter-collegiate festivals, events, workshops and seminars in association with various educational institutions across the country. We are on the verge of closing such associations with IITs, other prominent management institutes and city colleges,'' he added.
