House of a senior Hurriyat leader raided in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 24 (UNI) Security forces today raided the house of a senior leader of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Sheikh Abdul Aziz, official sources said.
They said the raid was conducted early this morning in the Pampore house of Mr Aziz.
A spokesman of the HC strongly criticised the raid and said a delegation of the amalgam led by Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Ghulam Nabi Zaki visited the house of Mr Aziz.
He said the such incidents would not deter them to raise the Kashmir issue and express their concern over the alleged Human Rights violations by the security forces in the valley.
The Spokesman alleged that army and personnel from Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir police raided the house and ransaked it.
He said the inmates, including elderly people and children were harassed by the security forces during the raid. However, they could not find anything objectionable in the house, he added.
