Bangalore, July 24 (UNI) A Four-day Global Convention and Expo on Ayurveda focusing on Geriatric, Metabolic Disorders and Nutrition areas to mark the centenary of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy Founder P V Rama Varier will be held at Coimbatore from August 21.
Briefing newsmen here Convention Organising Committee Chairman Dr G Gangadharan said the deliberations would also address the relevance of Ayurveda in addressing critical areas of health care.
The highlight of the convention was participation of practitioners of modern medicine and researchers along with experts of Ayurveda.
Experts and more than 110 scholars from India and abroad would take part in the convention, he explained adding that over 3000 delegations including 300 from foreign countries would attend various sessions.
Replying to queries he said three research programmes on the efficacy of Ayurveda would be signed between India and the United States of America after the convention. Three National centres for Geriatrics at Jaipur Metabolic disorder at New Delhi and for Nutrition at either Hyderabad or Coimbatore would also be set up, he revealed. These centres would have a collaboration of foreign universities too and the talks were in progress in this regard, he added.
Answering a question he said talks were also on with Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to create industry platform for promotion of healthcare products in Ayurveda. A vision document on the Ayurveda with a global perspective would also be prepared after the convention, he added.
