Bhopal, July 24 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dhruvnarayan Singh today described the resolve of the Centre to demolish the 'Ram Setu' to complete the Sethusamudram project as dangerous.

''The Centre has told the Supreme Court that the Ram Setu was damaged and not worth worshipping. This attitude of the Centre is dangerous for the country,'' Mr Singh said, adding that the Congress lacked far-sightedness and its minority appeasement policies had led to communalism and the country was in the grip of terrorism.

He said the Sethusamudram project should be implemented after making necessary amendments.

Mr Singh said an affidavit was lodged denying existence of Lord Rama due to nexus between Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. Now, attempt has been made to deny existence of the Ram Setu.

He claimed that the Naval Force gets support from the Ram Setu to protect naval frontiers and has expressed apprehensions about intrusion from terrorist outfits such as LTTE if it is damaged.

Besides, the Setu helps maintain bio-diversity and environmental balance.
