Talking to presspersons today after the 45th annual general meeting of the company, its deputy chairman and managing director Dr Ganesh Natarajan said a 300-seater facility is being set up at EON, a SEZ for the IT and ITES, in Kharadi and is expected to be ready by August 2008.
EON is a SEZ spread over 45 acres having four blocks of which two are functional. He said another 300 seater facility is also being set up in Hyderabad, expected to be operational by February 2009.
With this there would be two facilities, one a 300 seater and another 100 seater facility for Kotak Mahindra Bank for its cards division at Hyderabad, Dr Natarajan said. He noted that both the 300-seater facilities would initially start with IT services and may be extended to its BPO services later.
It is also increasing its focus into Eastern Europe and this would include countries such as Rumania, Hungary and Poland, Dr Natarajan said.
He said the Eastern and Western European markets would be serviced from its development centre out of Poland. He also noted that it has extended the centre of excellence to Poland for a talent pool.
The non traditional geographies currently contributed to about 35 per cent of its turnover, while the US and UK markets contributed 65 per cent. The ideal mix, according to Dr Natarajan, was about 55 per cent from the US, 25 per cent from the UK and the remaining from the rest of the world.
It is also coming out with a software to entice the Kirana (small shops) to utilise the services of information technology. The software is in the process and is expected to be ready within three months, he added.
