Win in trust vote is victory for India: Cong
Puducherry, Jul 23: Hailing the victory of the UPA government at the Centre in the Confidence Vote, Puducherry PCC president A V Subramanian termed it a victory for the country.
Addressing a press conference here after bursting crackers and distributing sweets to celebrate the victory yesterday, he came down heavily on the Left parties, alleging that they opposed the Indo-US civil nuclear deal with ulterior motives.
Stating that electricity was a necessity for the development of the country in all spheres, he said for this, the nuke deal would be the answer, signalling a better future for the country.
To a question pertaining to the differences between the Chief Minister and others Ministers here, Mr Subramanian said the Congress would take an appropriate decision as per democratic norms. The AICC was dealing with the issue, he added.
To propagate the benefits of the deal and the four year achievements of the UPA government in four year, the youth and students Congress would organise rallies and street corner meetings, he said, adding that the Mahila Congress had already organised a rally.
Hailing the victory in the trust vote, Welfare Minister M Kandasamy, who was also present, said this clearly showed that the Congress would retain power in the next Parliamentary elections.
