Percept Media acquires music rights of Ramchand Pakistani
Mumbai, Jul 23 (UNI) Percept Media has acquired the music rights and satellite rights for the Indian market of Mehreen Jabbar's directorial debut - 'Ramchand Pakistani' for five years, and is currently holding talks with music label for sale of rights.
The movie is based on a true story about a Pakistani Hindu family belonging to the 'untouchable' caste, and the consequences of an inter-border crossing upon the lives of a woman, a man, and their son during the tense political and military stand-off between India and Pakistan in the summer of 2002, a release issued today stated.
The songs of the movie have been composed by Debojyoti Mishra of 'Chokher Bali' and 'Raincoat' fame and lyrics penned by Pakistani lyricist Anwar Maqsood. Shubha Mudgal has sung the title track, while two other tracks have been rendered by Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali, the release added.
