Darbhanga, Jul 23 (UNI) Two CPI(ML) leaders were injured when the vehicle of a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) hit party activists demonstrating near Supaul market under Biraul police station here today.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer(SDPO) of Biraul Sanjay Kumar said here that the activists, agitating at Biraul-Darbhanga main road, threw stones at the vehicle of SDO Shamim Ahmad while he was on his way to attend a meeting at the district headquarters.

He said the two activists--Gangiya Devi and Ramswarth Chaupal-- were hit by the vehicle when the driver tried to escape from the spot along with the officer.

The injured had been admitted at the local referal hospital.

Meanwhile, district secretary of All India Khet Mazdoor Sabha Jamaluddin alleged that the SDO was evading dialogue with the agitating CPI(ML) workers and deliberately hit the people to physically eliminate them.

In protest against the incident, the party would observe protest day and hold meetings tomorrow in the district, he informed.

Two separate FIRs had been lodged by both parties at the Biraul police station.

Earlier, at the call of farmer's agitation, the CPI(ML) activists had blocked Darbhanga-Muzaffarpur road near Mabbi, Darbhanga-Baheri road near Pandasarai and Darbhanga-Madhubani road near Gausaghat during the day.
