Mumbai, Jul 23 (UNI) BJP leaders and activists today demonstrated outside the city residence of expelled party MP from Yavatmal, Haribhau Rathod, who defied the party whip and remained absent during the trust vote of UPA government in Lok Sabha.
Leaders and activists, numbering around 150, garlanded the name plate of Rathod's residence in the Eastern suburbs of Mumbai, with slippers and bangles and shouted slogans against the rebel MP.
The protestors included former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, MLAs Prakash Mehta and Tara Singh, alongwith others, a party release said.
Rathod, who is close to BJP's national secretary Gopinath Munde, was one of the eight party MPs, who remained absent during the trust vote yesterday.
