New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) Three of BJP members of Parliament whose participation in the voting on the confidence motion, was in doubt on health grounds have reached the capital to cast their crucial votes.
While Bikaner MP Dharmendra who had been recuperating in Los Angeles after a knee surgery reached here yesterday, Harishandra Chavan, MP from Malegoan in Maharashtra was rushed in from Nashik in an air-ambulance late last night. He was seriously injured in an accident and has been bedridden for over a month.
MP from Gujarat Mahesh Kanodia, a popular singer, who recently underwent open heart surgery, is also in the city.
Only D C Srikantappa, who represents the Chikmagalur constituency of Karnataka, has not turned up. He had undergone a hip surgery after a fall in his bathroom and had informed the party high command that he would not be able to vote.
The party has sought permission from the Speaker to allow its ailing members to cast their votes from parliament lobby.
BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who has not been keeping well for the past few months will be casting his vote in the Parliament lobby, party sources said.
