SSB seizes drugs on Indo-Nepal border

New Delhi, Jul 21 (UNI) The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) deployed on the porus Indo-Nepal border have seized several hundred kg of contraband worh lakhs of rupees in the international market.

The seizure includes 182 Kg of ganja, heroin and arms, amounting to Rs 71 lakh in the last one week.

SSB personnel apprehended one Navin Kumar Jha with little less than one kg of heroin at village Shivpuri of Thakurganj in Bihar.

SSB personnel deployed at Sonbarsa, Bihar seized 15 Kg charas. At Tukrabasti in Assam, SSB personnel seized one country made gun with 250 gm gun powder and was handed over the same to local police. At Panitanki in Darjeeling District, SSB patrolling party apprehended one Mani Tamang with one sten gun and magazine. An SSB naka party seized 9 Kg and 168 Kg Ganja at Bhiknathori and Sikta in West Champaran district respectively. SSB personnel stationed at Jaynagar in Madhubhani also seized 4.7 Kg of ganja, a spokesperson said here.
