New Delhi, Jul 21 (UNI) In what appeared to be the most interrupted speech in Lok Sabha today, Mr Shahnawaz Hussain of BJP took a pot shot at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by reminding him that Guru Gobind Singh invoked by him while moving the confidence motion in the House had never betrayed the nation.

Participating in the debate on trust vote, the MP from Bihar, while stating he was proud that the 10th Sikh Guru hailed from his native state, lauded Dr Singh for invoking the name of the Guru who had ordained the 'Khalsa'(pure) order in the country.

But at the same time, Mr Hussain reminded the Prime Minister that the Guru never betrayed the nation but nuclear deal with the United States would be a betrayal of the country. "India will be enslaved for 600 years if the deal went through .... (like) the entry of East India company led to enslavement of India for 300 years," he added.

An exasperated Speaker warned the House that he would have to ask the Prime Minister to reply to the debate tomorrow morning if such situation as witnessed today continued to prevail. He appealed to respective party leaders to restrain their members.

Members of the Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party repeatedly interrupted Mr Hussain even as he continued hurling tongue-in-cheek remarks, irritating MPs of these parties.

The BJP's Muslim MP said that since the deal was against the country, it was against both Hindus and Muslims and not Muslims alone as claimed by Mr M K Pandhe of the CPI(M) and "Behanji" now.

But he claimed that clouds of danger were hovering over the Samajwadi Party for having switched over to the pro-deal camp, forcing them to go to Delhi's Jama Masjid to seek out the help of its top cleric.
