Bangalore, July 21 (UNI) Delhi bound Jet Airways carrying Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Chattisghad Chief Minister Raman Singh returned to the base immediately after take off today following alleged bomb threat.
According to sources, Hyderabad International Airport, which received an anonymous call about a bomb in the Bangalore-Delhi Jet Airways and alerted the Bangalore Internataional Airport Authorities in this regard. The flight, which had taken off just minutes before, was immediately asked to return.
Soon after the landing, Mr Yeddyurappa and Mr Singh were escorted to safety and after passengers were asked to disembark, Bomb defusal squad and police took up a thorough search. Each and every luggage was subjected to check.
Sources said that only after a through search it can be known whether the call was hoax or not. However, precautionary measure has been taken and men are at work.
Mr Yeddyurappa and Dr Singh continued their onward journey to New Delhi in another flight later.
