Ahmedabad, Jul 21 (UNI) Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has condemned today's 'Bandh' call given by the Jetega Gujarat Sangarsh Samiti (JGSS), which led to disruption of the civic life and widespread damage to the trade and industry.
GCCI president Rupesh Shah said the death of two innocent kids -- Dipesh Vaghela (10) and Abhishek Vaghela (11) in spiritual preacher Asaram Bapu's Gurukul in Ahmedabad in mysterious circumstances in first week of the month, were extremely sad and unfortunate.
''It is understable to express our feelings against the incident,'' he said, adding, ''when the parents of two kids themselves are not supporting the bandh call and pursuing justice by peaceful means, it is absolutely improper for the so-called organisations to provoke the feelings of people by giving a wrong twist to the sad incident and derive undue advantage.'' Mr Shah said the people of Gujarat are peace loving and are determined for all round progress of trade and industry. He said such calls only lead to untoward incidents of arson ruining the civic life and livelihood of daily earners, besides business houses, public transport vehicles and public organisations.
GCCI chief said ''we have been approached by several of our affiliated Mahajans and they all have harshly condemned the frequent calls for 'Gujarat Bandh' on this incident.'' However, the state government had yesterday ordered a judicial inquiry into the mysterious deaths of two boys.
