CPI(ML) calls for farmers demonstration on Aug 8
Lucknow, Jul 21 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Communist Party of India (Marxist&Leninist) secretary Sudhakar Yadav met farmers, who were on agitation against UP government's stand of confiscating their land in the name of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
Extending full support to the agitating farmers, the CPI(ML) secretary called for an demonstration with them in front of Vidhan Sabha on August 8.
In the leadership of the party secretary a team of CPI(ML) leaders reached the 'dharna' site at Chinhat late last night and assured the agrarians of their full support, party sources said today.
Farmers revealed that their 120 hectares of land was forcibly taken away at much lower rate from that of existing market rate.
Meanwhile, the CPI(ML) demanded the state government to cease upon it's anti-farmer activities and stop farmers exploitation with immediate effect.
