New Delhi, Jul 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tonight hosted a dinner for the Members of Parliament of the ruling UPA coalition ahead of the July 22 trust vote in the Lok Sabha.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Leaders of all the UPA constituents and the supporting parties were among those who were present at the dinner at the Hotel Ashok.
But the cynosure of all eyes was BJP MP Brij Bhushan Saran Singh, who represents Balrampur, who made a surprise appearance at the dinner.
MDMK MPs Gingee Ramachandran and L Ganesan were also present at the dinner. The MDMK, which has four members in the Lok Sabha, had already announced that it would vote against the government.
The leaders and MPs were seen busy interacting with each other in small and bigger groups inside the Conventional Hall, where the dinner was organised.
The dinner was essentially meant to bring the entire UPA flock together as a show of strength and to instil confidence in them about the winning chances of the government in the trust vote.
