New Delhi, Jul 20 (UNI) Expressing concern over the inadequacy of CNG in the city, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today said the government will provide all possible assistance and co-operation to ensure ''ample supply'' of the gas in the capital.
''The current inadequacy of CNG supply in Delhi has been largely caused by the increase in demand by CNG buses, taxis, autos, private vehicles coming from neighbouring suburbs particularly NOIDA, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad in National Capital Region (NCR),''Mr Deora said.
He also requested the governments of UP and Haryana to give the required clearances to IGL for opening new CNG stations.
Mr Deora also requested Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to allot land for 50 more CNG stations and provide single window clearance to tackle CNG demand on war footing, an official statement said.
