Hyderabad, July 20 (UNI) All India Mujlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi, MP, today announced that he would vote for the UPA during the vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha on July 22.
Addressing the press here, Mr Owaisi said he met AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh separately two days back and expressed his reservations on the Indo-US nuclear deal. The two leaders had clarified his doubts on the deal, he added.
Stating that the UPA had done a lot for the welfare of the Muslims in the country, he observed that the UPA had constituted a separate Ministry for Minority Welfare and the Sachar Committee to study the socio-economic standards of the Muslims.
Alleging that the Left parties were ''helping'' the BJP to come to power by withdrawing support to the ''secular'' UPA Government, Mr Owaisi said ''the Left and the BJP are two sides of a coin.'' UNI AP SJ RP KN1433
