Two Bangladeshi smugglers shot dead by BSF jawans
Bongaon, Jul 19 (UNI) Two Bangladeshi smugglers were shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans at Matsampur border under Bagdah police station in North 24 Parganas today.
Police said a gang of seven smugglers were crossing the international border at Matsampur, cutting barbed wire fencing to smuggle Phensidril, a banned drug.
The jawans, while guarding the border after abortive attempts to stop them, opened fire that left two of them dead on the spot. The rest of the gang fled away leaving about 200 kg of banned drug and 48,000 Taka near the fencing which BSF seized, police added.
