Tirupati, Jul 19 (UNI) As part of popularising the 'sanatana dharma' and peace across the world, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is conducting 'Srinivasa Kalyanotsavam' (celestial wedding) in various countries, TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said today.
Addressing a 'Srinivasala Kalyanotsavam' programme in Singapore, which was attended by 20,000 couples, Mr Reddy said more propagation was needed to spread the Indian culture and traditional values across the world to develop human values in the society, a TTD release said here.
The programme was conducted as part of the 600th Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrations.
More than 40,000 devotees participated in the celestial wedding.
Singapore Home Minister K Shanmugham, prominent industrialist Vittal Kumar, Singapore Telugu Samajam (STS) President Satyamurhty and STS Secretary B V Sriram also witnessed the cultural event, the release added.
